It started with a ghost seeking his final request. This ghost flew among the citizens of Tamora, asking them all to find his father's 'Grim Retort' an ax of great power.
On Perry Illsmith's second day back from the Aether, he met with Jeremy and a dwarf. The dwarf and Perry were talking in the Endless Keg, when Jeremy walked in and handed the dwarf a map, asking him if he had seen it before. The dwarf remembered for some while and said yes. The three were off.
They tracked for two days, over the Crags of Talnere, across many bodies of water, and so on. Finally they saw a lone, red lfag, flapping in the wind. As they approached, the dwarf tripped and fell off of a small incline, breaking his leg. Perry offered to heal it, but the dwarf declined. The three set up a small camp for the dwarf to rest while they were in the Chamber of the Retort.
Upon entering, Perry and Jeremy were assaulted by countless spider webs, and a few dozen spiders. These were fought off, though Perry was minorly poisoned. They found a series of diary pages from the ghost's father. The pages were increasingly disturbing as they delved deeper into the caverns. Soon the light of the sun, had vanished
The pages, scattered throughout the cave were about the man eating his victims in an unsettling manner. He had stolen the Grim Retort from a vampire long ago, the vampire bit him, though he used the ax to slay the beast. He then dined on the carcass. He had used that weapon to slay countless others, including a band of elves he lured into a forest. After each of the murders, he proceded to feast on their bodies.
After the final, sickening letter, Jeremy and Perry came across a large rope bridge. As soon as the set foot on it, the middle portion snapped except for one thin wire, the two were forced to cross the small wire, there was now no turning back.
They entered a chamber lighted only by magma flowing from the walls. In the center, on a sandstone dais, sat a wooden box, filled with decomposing material, and ash. in the center of the heap, shining brightly, was the Grim Retort. Perry Lifted it out of the box, and it instantly flew into the air.
A ghost flew from beneath the ax and grasped it's glowing hilt. It was the ghost of the cannibal. It yelled a few echoing rasps about eating the two. But Jeremy reacted quicker than the ghost or Perry and swung at it with an enchanted sword. The ghost shrieked and then dived at Perry, wounding him with the ax. Jeremy and the ghost continually fought while Perry summoned a ball of energy. He threw it above the ghost and rocks tumbled onto it, dazing it.
Then Jeremy began taunting it, while Perry charged an ax the dwarf had loaned him with powerful magic. As the ghost descended for another hit, Jeremy deflected it, sending it flying upward! Perry swung the ax through the air, and an arc of silver magic descended upon the ghost, destroying it.
The only thing left to do was leave, but as they left, the son of the cannibal's voice echoes through the chamber, saying they can keep the ax or take some riches, it also mentioned that the Grim Retort could defeat any enemy. They chose to keep the ax. The two escaped an alternate way, for the rest of the bridge collapsed as the cave exploded.

Perry and Rilien left to go find the dwarf, though it took almost two days, they finally made it back to the makeshift tent Perry had made the dwarf, but to their horror the dwarf was gone! The two rushed into the cave that was crumbling slowly but did not find the dwarf. As they left, the ground crumbled beneath Perry and he slipped into a pit of lava, destroying his possesions.
Along with the Grim Retort.
